In the 21st century, words have evolved into an essential ingredient that must be included to increase your website's visibility, social media platforms, and general online presence. However, what truly matters is not the total amount of words an individual uses across all of their sites but rather the specific terms they choose to use in their profile descriptions!


With that said, we want to share some tips to elevate your presence online. Here we go!


Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO)


Before discovering the correct words for your business, we must briefly discuss the idea of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the process used to optimize your online discovery by finding and using relevant words, content, and links so your pages can become easily findable by search engines that use algorithms to rank.

Ideally, you want your website to rank higher on what’s known as a search engine results page (SERP)* to drive more website traffic while attracting your target audience ultimately. Therefore, by being deliberate about your SEO, you may improve the technical aspects of your website's ranking and configuration and gain a deeper understanding of your target demographic.


That’s some powerful stuff!


Now that we understand what SEO is and its purpose, let's discuss how to find and implement it, focusing on Google's FREE SEO online tool, the Keyword Planner.


Accessing Google's SEO Tool


Why are we focusing on Google? First, Google is the highest-ranked and most-used search engine covering 90 percent of the worldwide market (Desjardins, 2018). Secondly, it's a free tool offered by the company that’s ranked number one in SEO and leads the way! There are many other SEO tools available online, but using Google's tools is analogous to Amazon selling their products on their website; since they own all the traffic, data, and insights, you might as well synergize with the organization that already knows your customers.


Now, the question is how do we access it? It is a little complicated, but below I outline the steps you must take:

Step One: Click On Keyword Planner


Step Two: Switching to Expert Mode

Make sure to switch to expert mode, or Google WILL INSIST you create a paid campaign*

Click " Tool & Setting," then Keyword Planner


Step Four: Discover New Keywords
